For those of you wondering on the back ground of
William Mayhem, I must admit I haven?t always been a pirate in character, but
surely in heart I have. As Bill McRea, I have performed
as a magician, comedian, actor and entertainer. I
have been complimented and privileged to work with and before many well known
entertainers. Some of the entertainers on that list include: Rick Springfield,
Beau Bridges, Trini Lopez, Tommy Smothers, James Hampton, David Carradine,
Richard Kind, John Byner, Adrian Paul, Arte Johnson, John OHurley, Lyle & Sharon
Waggoner and Desmond Llewelyn (Q of James bond Fame). I have made appearances in
over 7500 shows, worldwide for audiences of all ages & nationalities. I
have been the opening act for Jazz Musician Dave Koz and HBO Comedian/TV
Personality D.L. Hughley. I worked in Las Vegas from 1985-2007. On Oct. 28th,
2006 I was honored to be the only magician asked to perform at the World Famous
Stardust Casino on its Final Open Weekend. I have also utilized my talents for
motivational speaking programs, television commercials, theater productions,
corporate training videos and anti gang/drug programs with Local & State Law
Enforcement and Fire Agencies.
ALL of this has led up to my returning to my
hometown of St. Augustine Florida in 2007. I began performing street magic again
and like they say rediscovered my roots. The Pirate character of William Mayhem
began to slowly emerge and with the help of some very good friends within the
pirate community, began using my talents for St. Augustine.
In 27 short months here stands the list so far:
* Halloween
2007, 08 created the Pirate Horrors of William Mayhem a Halloween display that
attracted over 500 visitors each year and benefited the St. Francis House
Homeless Shelter in donated food and money.
* Performed
for school classes within the St. Johns County School System, 2007, 08, 09.
* Founding
Member of the Ancient City Privateers, 2008.
* Founding
Member of the St Augustine Pirate Gathering, 2008.
* Performed
as the Narrator for the historical Landing of Menendez, 2008.
* Pirate
Auctioneer for ?Give Kids the World? charity for kids with terminal illnesses,
2008.
* Protector
of the Royal Family, Gator bowl Parade, 2008.
* Performed
as the Court Magician for the City?s Menendez Gala, 2009
* Key
supporter and coordinator for the Pirate?s Duck race to help the Cancer Society,
2009.
* Summer
Party for the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind, 2009.
* Captain of
the St. Augustine Swashbucklers, Pirates and Buccaneers Social Society.
* Pirate
Magician/Cast Member for the Black Raven Adventures, Pirate ship of St
Augustine.
