The Swashbucklers
Pirate and Buccaneer Social Society is dedicated to researching, recreating and
celebrating the adventure and romance of Piracy circa 1600-1825 in the
New World
. Membership is open to anyone who has an interest in pirates, buccaneers,
privateers and the like.

Every
Man, Woman and Boy has a Vote in Affairs
of
Moment; has
equal title to the fresh Provisions, or Strong
Liquors,
at any Time seized, and use of them at
Pleasure,
unless
a Scarcity make it necessary for the good of all, to
Vote
a Retrenchment.

Each
Crewmember to be called fairly in turn, by List, on
Board
of
Prizes, because, they were on these
Occasions
allowed
a Shift of Clothes: But if they
defrauded the
Company
to the Value of a Dollar,
in Plate, Jewels, or
Money,
Marooning shall be their Punishment.

No
Person to Game at Cards or Dice, for Money.

The
Lights and Candles to be put out at twelve O'Clock at
Night: If any of the Crew, after that Hour,
still remained
inclined for Drinking, they were to do it on the open Deck

To
keep their Piece, Pistols, and Cutlass clean,
and
fit for
Service

To
Desert the Ship, or their Quarters in
Battle
, shall be
punished with Death, or Marooning.

No
striking one another on Board, but every
Crew
Member's
Quarrels to be ended on Shore, at Sword
and
Pistol.

No
Crew Member to talk of breaking up our Way of
Living, till
each has shared a 1000! If in order to
this,
any
Crew Member should lose a Limb, or
become
a Cripple
in
their Service, he was to have 800
Dollars,
out of the public
Stock, and for lesser Hurts, proportionally.

The
Captain and Quarter-Master to receive
two
Shares of
a Prize; the Master, Boatswain,
and
Gunner, one Share
and a half, and other Officers,
one and a Quarter.

Each
Officer and Crew Member is responsible for their
own Welfare and should take appropriate action (personal
insurance) to assure their wellbeing in case of accidents.
11
Officers
and Crew Members shalt have Fun.
Membership
is open to:
Full
Members: Those who can attend local monthly meeting
and support local events.
Associate
Members: Local or out of area members who may not
be able to attend regular meetings or events but may attend occasional local
events or support other members with on line participation.
